Hi Tec Poly House is a vocational unit of Amal Jyothi initiated with the help out of the Agricultural Department to those children who are more interested in agricultural works. The students have lead role in all the levels of works of Poly House starting from arranging the ground itself and ------- students are fully engaged in the activities of Poly House now. They observe the growth of the plant in each day and provide water and minerals as it needs. The fertilizers we use in the poly house are purely Bio Fertilizers that hasten the growth of the plants without creating negative impacts in the human body. The number of insects attacks from outside is comparatively less since the crop is protected under the poly house.
These types of vocational units facilitate for the empowerment of these children who are often discriminated from the mainstream of the society. Moreover, it gives a hand for the students to earn for their self dependency. The foliage works the children do are capable of saving the earth for its sustainability as well as the people to meet with their wants. The first stage of cultivation provided 500 Kg of Beans, 250 Kg of Shell Beans and the next farming is in the process for this year.
Teaching Sinkarimelam, the traditional music of Kerala was an initiative of Amal Jyothi to advance the concealed skills and talents of our children for the development of the community. This vocational unit for the children is aided by the Block Panchayath. Twenty students are the members of this unit including two girls at present. These differently abled children utilize their abilities given by God the Almighty for varied functions in and out of Amal Jyothi. They enjoy what they do in their lives and proud to be of what they are. The unit used to participate in varied functions held in Idukki district and this situation advances the interpersonal skills of the students to interact with the community where they develop self confidence to face with their challenges. This also helps the students to earn for themselves for their self dependency.
